Applying for Visa
To obtain a visa the applicant must submit the following:
- 1 (one) copy of completed online Visa Application Form. Please click here https://www.visa.gov.bd/
- 2 (Two) 45mm X 35mm photograph taken within the last six months (Photo is mandotary with white background).
- Passport, valid for at least six months.
- Copy of passport with photo page.
- No visa fee required for Indian nationals. For nationals of other countries, please click here https://www.visa.gov.bd/
Depending upon the purpose of visit, the following documents may be required:
Tourist visa:
- Filled in prescribe visa application form can be obtained from https://www.visa.gov.bd/
- 2 (Two) recent passport size colour photo (Photo is mandotary with white background).
- Proof of residence (Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Driving License & Pan Card)
- Copy of old Passport ( if any).
- For professionals, proof of profession and " No Objection Certificate" from competent authority.
Business Visa:
- All Documents for Tourist Visa.
- Application in Letter head from applicants organization.
- Invitation from a Business organisation from Bangladesh.
- Concerned Indian Chamber of Commerce & Indutries Recommendation.
- Trade license, Import-Export license, Bank statement, Copy of LC/ Bill of entry.
Tourist Family Visa:
- All Documents for Tourist Visa.
- Affidavit from Bangladeshi spouse.
- Copy of Marraige Certificate.
- Copy of Passport or National Identity Card (NID) of Bangladeshi spouse.
Employment Visa:
- All Documents for Tourist Visa.
- Letter of Bangladesh Investment & Development Authority (BIDA).
- Copy of Advertisement of News Paper.
- Copy of Appointment.
- Copy of Educational Qualification.
- Copy of National Identity.
Student visa:
- Letter from the concerned educational institution duly attested by the Bangladesh Ministry of Education, Dhaka and Certificate of financial guarantee
Performance Visa:
- All documents for Tourist Visa.
- Letter from Ministry of Cultural Affairs & Ministry of Information of Bangladesh (Cultural performer).
- Letter from Ministry of Youth & Sports & Sports Federation of Bangladesh (Sports Person).
- Letter from concern local Sports Federation.
Investor visa:
- Letter of recommendation from the Bangladesh Ministry of Industries or the Board of Investment (BOI) or Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), Dhaka.
Missionary visa:
- Letter of appointment from the Church and “No Objection” from the Bangladesh Ministry of Religious Affairs, Dhaka.
Diplomatic and official visa :
- Note verbal/letter from the concerned government office/Mission
Journalist visa:
- Letter of request from the employer/news agency clearly stating the purpose of the visit.
Please note that after scrutiny of documents, the Consular Officer may request for an interview and/or submission of additional documents. Issuance of visa may be delayed if reference has to be made to Bangladesh for clearance.
